Modernizing SCE’s Video Infrastructure Through Centralized, Scalable NVR Deployment
E.K Associates, in partnership with G4S Secure Integration, delivered a next-generation Network Video Recorder (NVR) deployment program to support Southern California Edison’s large-scale security and operations footprint. Our team engineered a centralized, virtualized infrastructure model that replaced disparate, aging recorder systems with a modern, automated, and highly repeatable provisioning framework.
By introducing standardized VM templates, unified monitoring, automated patching, and centralized configuration management, E.K enabled SCE to improve operational reliability,
strengthen cybersecurity posture, and dramatically reduce the time and cost associated with NVR deployment and lifecycle maintenance.

What We Delivered
Centralized Infrastructure Setup & Configuration
We established the core infrastructure required for scalable NVR deployment, including:
• Installation and configuration of VMware ESXi on HPE DL380 G10 hosts
• Deployment and configuration of NetApp 2812 storage and Santricity management
• Setup of VMware vCenter for centralized VM orchestration
• Deployment of vROPS for VM and host health monitoring.
• Establishment of Windows Active Directory for authentication and security policy enforcement
• Configuration of WSUS for automated OS patching
• Configuration of McAfee ePO for enterprise antivirus management
Standardized VM Image Development & Automated Provisioning
To ensure repeatability and security, E.K developed:
• A standardized Windows Server 2016 NVR VM template
• A standardized Windows 10 workstation template
• Repeatable build procedures for provisioning VMs on ESXi and NetApp platforms
• Automated workflows for joining hosts to vCenter and systems to Active Directory
• Standard configuration playbooks for integrating VMs into centralized management tools
NVR Deployment Using a Repeatable, High-Reliability Model
For each NVR deployment, E.K executed a consistent, secure, and documented process:
• Provisioned ESXi hosts and configured underlying storage
• Deployed standardized VM templates and applied baseline hardening
• Joined hosts to centralized management platforms (vCenter, AD, monitoring tools)
• Applied latest OS, AV, and configuration updates
